The home

What happens at home stays home.

Processing is local by design. Here is exactly what is stored, where, and for how long.

What never leaves the home

  • The images and video from the cameras and the door station
  • The presence detections and the movement history
  • The temperature readings and the status of your equipment
  • Your scenes, schedules and learned habits
  • The sound: the Hub has no always-listening microphone

This data is stored in the Hub, on encrypted storage. It passes through no server, including ours. We have no access to it, even at your request. Technically, we cannot.

What leaves, and why

DataReasonRetention
Serial number and software versionDeliver updatesProduct lifetime
Anonymous error counterFix faults13 months
Address and contact detailsDelivery, installation, warranty10 years (legal obligation)
Purchase historyAccounting10 years (legal obligation)

The error counter can be disabled in the Hub settings, with no loss of function.

Remote access

When you check on your home from outside, the connection is established directly between your phone and your Hub, encrypted end to end. Our servers only serve to put the two in contact. They see no content pass through and keep no trace of it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may request access to, rectification, erasure or portability of the data we hold, that is, the commercial data listed above, the only data in our possession.

Write to contact@falk-holm.com. Response within thirty days. Our data protection officer can be reached at the same address. You may also refer the matter to your data protection authority.

If you resell

A factory reset irreversibly erases the Hub's encrypted storage. It takes four minutes and is triggered by a ten-second long press on the rear button. Do it before any transfer of ownership.
